YOUR PRACTICE FOR THIS WEEK!
A practice to wake you up.
Dance to your own rhythm. You’ll open up the tight sheath (the fascia) that covers your back body. Wake up your spine in 6 directions and get those side bodies nice and long!! So your breath will be deep and easy after your practice. And you’ll discover you can maintain a peaceful state more easily throughout the day.
Also, you’ll play a little with variations on dancer pose 🙂 Belly down and standing up variations!
(Core work, side bodies, spine flexibility, wake up, hip and shoulder openers)
Great for Afternoon or Evening
Surprise!! Tonight is about opening the shoulders! Lose the tension, stress, and all the responsibilities that others are trying to dump on your shoulders!!! Stand tall and breathe easily after tonight’s practice!
(shoulders)
Wild Wonderful Wacky Yoga – Intermediate to Advanced Practice
Strut your stuff and shake your tail feathers!!! Heart openers, core work, and feathered peacock pose (forearm balance) variations. This is a great workout for your shoulders and core!!! Grab a yoga block(s)!
(core, shoulders, upper back)
* Remember this is an Intermediate/Advanced class designed for the yogi who has been playing for a little while and wants to up the ante and learn some of the finer details on how to get into poses like crane, headstand, upward facing bow, wild thing……..and much more!
(Please remember to listen to your breath and body as you do any practice. When you are trying to determine your ‘edge’ – how far you should go in a pose, pay attention to your breath. If you are holding your breath, grasping for it, or breathing short, quick breaths come out of the pose – you’re pushing too hard. The goal is to breathe even, steady breaths in all that you do. They may not always be deep but they are steady.)
