Day 4 – Slow Down to Energize
You get what you give. Running around non-stop from work to picking up kids, to yet another appointment, and what’s for dinner? And did you lock the door? This is a cycle that can get you sick or injured. When you work hard and play hard, eventually your steam will run out. Maybe when you were in your 20s you could crash and dash, but skipping on rest will eventually run you into the ground. Believe me, I’ve been there and still continue to visit.
Today you’ll even the playing field (look at me talking all sports ball! ha ha! You know you were raised by artists when you ask about how the audience was at the last baseball game. My poor hubby had to point out the strangeness of that comment to me …)
The heat you created in the previous practice should get you moving not burned out. Just like a surprise warm spring day that turns into a refreshing cool evening . You need to balance the heat of a practice with a sweet, refreshing recovery.
It’s time to fill your cup! You are worth it! If you don’t take some time to build into yourself, what will you have to share? Let’s play. Take 10 minutes out of your day and feel like a million bucks! Or maybe a billion 🙂
And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make. ~ The Beatles
Just ask my awesome Boston Terrier puppies, Gracie and Kira, all about it. They know when it’s time to play and when it’s time to snuggle.
