Day 6
A Quick Fix for Day Six! Welcome to Day 6!
Congratulations! You made it to the end of the first week!
If you’ve been keeping up with your journal pages take some time today and look back at your notes. Do you see any trends? Or patterns? There is something amazing that happens when we write down what’s going on for us. How did we experience the moment? What did we feel like before and after? Were there any insights?
(And as a side note it doesn’t have to be words that we use to document our experience. Stick figures and smiley faces work too!)
Patterns become visible when they are put to paper. Take for example baseball. The magic of the game was lost on me until my Uncle Joe taught me how to keep score. Then this amazing story unfolded for me. I could see the strategy and excitement as the story became visible on paper. I was missing out because I couldn’t “see” what was going on. Now I had a picture of the whole game up until this point. It made the choices much more interesting.
Where in your life are you missing the magic or connection? Is there an invisible pattern that is keeping you stuck in the same old rut? As soon as you can see the pattern you can make a choice. That choice could open a whole new world of joy to you.
So let’s put our legs up and take a little break! It’s Restorative Yoga Friday! This will be a fabulous way to wrap up the week. Enjoy!
Quick Reminder:
The intention for this 21 Day Challenge series is to do something everyday Monday – Friday. We are focusing on doing the basics at home and getting into a rhythm. Pace and modify according to you needs. I will always give you options. Remember you know yourself best, listen to your instincts.
Remember, you’re just one yoga practice away from a smile!
I invite you to give this a try.

Benefits of Legs Up the Couch:
Energizes Fatigued Legs
- This pose will drain tension, stress, and fatigue from the legs as you reverse the affects of gravity.
Releases Water Retention
- If you’re ankles feel swollen or like you’re just holding onto too much water in the legs this will help to alleviate those symptoms.
Calms the Nervous Systems
- With gravity’s help our thighs settle into the hip sockets and a a feeling of calm washes over the body. The tight grip on the belly relaxes.
Quiets the Mind
- This is a great pose before bed. It will help to quiet the thoughts that race across the screen of the mind. It’s a great alternative to counting sheep!
